Frequency coordination procedure:
The coordination procedure for the use of frequencies on unplanned bands before such frequencies come into service aims at securing that all newly operated broadcasting systems do not interfere with other existing or planned users. Coordination procedures may be considered as a dynamic planning tool for the spectrum/ orbit resource which allows a more efficient use of such a resource.
Frequency coordination process:
The coordination of frequencies is a bilateral or a multilateral process carried out by concerned authorities. It includes following steps:
Identification of any authority which allocations may be affected and with which an early coordination should be sought after to reach an agreement.
Use of standardized methods for the assessment of interference risks.
Implementation of a standardized transparent procedure and more particularly the exchange of enough data in a specified format, expressing observations in a given time limit and if necessary the publication of the coordination procedure’s results in the appropriate ITU/BR circular.
