The National Frequencies Agency set up by virtue of law 2001-1 dated January 15, 2001 promulgating the telecommunication code is a non administrative public institution which is financially autonomous. It comes under the supervision authority of the Ministry of communication technologies.

Its relationships with third parties is subjected to the commercial legislation.
